Pro Canes Week 3 Rankings: Rousseau Dominates, Ward Struggles

Former Miami Hurricanes made their mark across the NFL in Week 3, led by a remarkable afternoon from Greg Rousseau. Here’s how the Pro Canes ranked this week.

1. Greg Rousseau, Buffalo Bills

Rousseau was the clear No. 1 after recording eight tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks in Buffalo’s 24–16 win over the Chargers. He now has six sacks through three games, with two in each game. No Bills player had ever opened a season with three straight games of at least two sacks.

2. Calais Campbell, Baltimore Ravens

Campbell helped keep pressure on Dak Prescott in Baltimore’s 34–31 win over Dallas. He accounted for three of the Ravens’ seven quarterback hits, a strong contribution in a game decided by a last-second field goal. The veteran is still finding ways to disrupt opposing offenses.

3. Keionte Scott, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Scott recorded five tackles and a pass defended against the Vikings. The rookie has now made 14 tackles through his first three NFL games and is becoming a regular contributor in Tampa Bay’s secondary. The Buccaneers lost 23–16, but Scott gave Canes fans another promising performance to follow.

4. Akheem Mesidor, Los Angeles Chargers

Mesidor supplied one of the week’s memorable Pro Canes moments when he brought down Josh Allen for his first full NFL sack. It came against a Bills team featuring fellow Hurricane Greg Rousseau, who was wreaking havoc on the other side of the ball. The Chargers lost 24–16, but Mesidor reached an early career milestone.

5. Andy Borregales, New England Patriots

Borregales made two of his three field-goal attempts, scoring all of New England’s points in a 35–6 loss to Jacksonville. His longest make was from 40 yards. The missed attempt keeps him lower in the rankings, though he provided the Patriots’ only scoring on a difficult day for their offense.

Needs to improve: Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans

Ward finished 23 of 36 for 181 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Tennessee’s 12–7 loss to the Giants. He brought the Titans within five points on a fourth-quarter touchdown pass and then drove them to the Giants’ seven-yard line with a chance to win. An end-zone interception with 17 seconds left ended the comeback. Ward showed he could move the offense late, but Tennessee needs that production earlier in games and a better decision with the game on the line.
